At What Type Of Plate Boundary Is New Land Formed When Magma Pushes Up From The Mantle And Cools?
At what type of plate boundary is new land formed when magma pushes up from the mantle and cools?
Good Day....
Convergent Boundary particularly oceanic - continental convergence and oceanic - oceanic convergence.
In convergent boundary, denser oceanic plate will subduct beneath the other. The leading edge of the subducted plate moves towards the mantle and melts. Melted materials rise up on the surface and creates volcanoes. Volcanic eruption releases magma on the surface and cools down creating volcanic island. Philippines is an example of volcanic islands.
Hope it helps....=)
